ISLAMABAD: Barrister Gohar Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), has denied rumors about a meeting between party leadership and a U.S. delegation. Speaking to reporters before a parliamentary party meeting, he stated that there are numerous resolutions and legislations in the U.S. Congress that have no connection to PTI. He emphasized that no one from PTI was contacted regarding the visit of the American delegation to Pakistan.
When asked about any communications with the establishment, Barrister Gohar replied, “I am as aware as you are.” He indicated that PTI would determine its future course of action in collaboration with opposition parties. He mentioned that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had requested to be updated about decisions on April 15 after the executive council meeting.
Barrister Gohar stated that an alliance would be formed with opposition parties to agree on a joint course of action and also to establish terms of reference (TORs) together. He further clarified, “We are not spreading hatred; we are brothers, and differences can arise everywhere.” He noted that PTI is a democratic party where no one is prevented from expressing their views, but if someone has something to say, it should be done within the party.
He concluded by saying that these issues are not personal, but sometimes statements are made that should be overlooked.
