BUNER: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has criticized the federal government’s relief efforts for flood victims in Buner, describing the aid provided as “like salt in flour”—a phrase indicating something is woefully insufficient.
While acknowledging the roles of the Pakistan Army, NAB, and other institutions, Khan sharply contrasted their efforts with what he called the federal government’s meager contribution. He reported that Buner district, which has suffered 236 flood-related deaths, has received only 200 tents, 5 generators, and 98 food packets from the federal government.
He highlighted the disparity between the need and the aid, noting that only 40 compensation cheques had been distributed to 21 families of the deceased.
Khan demanded the government immediately waive the electricity surcharge in affected areas and allow bills to be paid in installments to alleviate the public’s burden.
