PESHAWAR: Kurram district’s Sunni and Shia delegations held separate meetings with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Advisor, Barrister Saif, to discuss the peace and order situation in the region. During the meetings, the delegations shared their concerns and emphasized the need for lasting peace in the area.
Barrister Dr. Saif urged both parties to support the government in curbing the activities of miscreants and to distance themselves from such elements. He highlighted that the miscreants are attempting to fuel sectarian tensions through their actions, but the government is committed to preventing their success.
The delegations called for strict action against those disrupting peace, stressing that miscreants are the primary obstacle to stability in Kurram. They reaffirmed their commitment to the peace agreement and pledged full cooperation with security forces and the government to restore normalcy. The participants noted that ongoing unrest has severely impacted educational, commercial, and socio-economic activities in the region.

Barrister Dr. Saif assured the delegations that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is actively working to resolve the long-standing conflict in Kurram, which has persisted for over a century. He stated that the government is taking all necessary measures to establish lasting peace and appealed to both communities to play a constructive role in this effort.
The provincial information advisor reiterated that the government is determined to eliminate miscreants and ensure peace prevails in Kurram, urging all stakeholders to unite against those who seek to destabilize the region.
