PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto aleges Indian 'Water Terrorism,' urges UN to intervene on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned the use of state power on public protests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that violence against the people who raised their voices against corruption and lawlessness is condemnable and shameful. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari telephoned PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha and inquired about the government’s response to the “Save the Province” rally in Peshawar. He congratulated the party leaders for organizing the rally and stressed on continuing the struggle for public rights. The Chairman PPP said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has become afraid of peaceful protests, that is why the tactics of using state power, shelling tear gas and police brutality are being adopted. He made it clear that this strategy of direct confrontation with the people will cost the provincial government dearly.

Bilawal Bhutto further said that the “Save the Province” movement is not just a rally but this movement will now spread from street to street and alley. The PTI’s “Gunda Sarkar” will fail to suppress the democratic voice. He expressed his resolve that the PPP will never leave the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone, nor will there be any compromise on their constitutional rights. Corrupt elements and the politics of oppression will be defeated on the basis of people’s power.
