Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari declared that the United States would “grab India by the ears” to force it to the negotiating table if necessary, emphasizing Pakistan’s preference for dialogue over conflict. Speaking at a press conference in London, he asserted that Pakistan had “won the war” against India under Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership but remained committed to peace despite India’s “lies and aggression.”
Bhutto accused India of violating international norms by threatening to block water flows under the Indus Waters Treaty, calling such actions illegal and warning they could escalate tensions. He revealed Pakistan would present these concerns to the European Union in Brussels, urging global intervention to uphold the treaty.
The PPP chairman also condemned Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for “warmongering,” contrasting it with Pakistan’s “patient” diplomacy. He highlighted India’s alleged involvement in transnational terrorism, citing Canada’s accusations and Sikh activist killings, and noted the international community’s refusal to endorse India’s “false narratives” after the Pahalgam attack.
On U.S. involvement, Bhutto welcomed President Donald Trump’s repeated offers to mediate on Kashmir, crediting him with globalizing the dispute and compelling India to retreat from its stance that Kashmir is an “internal matter.” He accused India of sabotaging Trump’s peace efforts but expressed confidence the U.S. would ensure India participates in talks.
