Islamabad: Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance, has been named a strategic advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council. The appointment was announced during a high-level meeting in Islamabad, chaired by Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.
The meeting included key officials such as the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the Governor of the State Bank, and senior representatives from the Ministry of Law and IT. Discussions focused on developing strategies to promote cryptocurrency and blockchain technology in Pakistan.

During his visit, CZ also held separate meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, where they discussed potential investments in the crypto sector, regulatory frameworks, and technological cooperation.
This move signals Pakistan’s growing interest in embracing digital currencies and blockchain innovation, with Binance playing a key advisory role in shaping the country’s crypto policies.
