An improvised explosive device (IED) has claimed the life of the district health officer’s (DHO) father in the Khar area of Bajaur district.
A powerful bomb blast has taken place in Khar, the main city of Bajaur, killing one person.
According to police sources, the explosion took place near the house of District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Gauhar.
Sources say that Dr. Gauhar’s father was killed in the blast, while fortunately, Dr. Gauhar himself was not at home at the time.
SHO Khar Police Station Rashid Khan has confirmed the incident.
The intensity of the blast was so high that the gate of the house was destroyed. Police have cordoned off the area and started an investigation.

Three people, including former Senator Abbas Afridi, were injured in an explosion caused by a gas leak in his room in the Babri Banda area of Kohat. According to Kohat Police Spokesperson Noman, the explosion occurred in the evening due to the gas leak and was so powerful that it caused the wall of the building to collapse. Former Senator Abbas Afridi was taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Kohat in critical condition, while the other two injured individuals were sent to the Divisional Headquarters Hospital. The police spokesperson stated that the bomb disposal squad arrived at the scene, and evidence is currently being collected.
