Bluesky introduces blue checks to verify authentic accounts

Bluesky announces blue check verification feature

Bluesky, a competitor to Elon Musk’s X, is introducing blue checks to confirm authentic accounts.

The company stated in a blog post that verified accounts will display a blue checkmark next to their names, emphasizing that “trust is everything.”

This feature is similar to Twitter’s earlier system, which helped users identify real accounts and prevent fraud. After Musk bought Twitter (now X) in 2022, he removed blue checks for verified users and instead offered them only to paying subscribers.
