BANNU: The Board of Governors of Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) Bannu has officially launched “Theme 2027” for the provision of quality health facilities and institutional development.

Theme 2027 was launched to improve health services in the MTI Bannu hospitals. “Theme 2027” includes several important projects, including Cath Lab in teaching hospitals, Comprehensive Health Rehabilitation Center, College of Nursing, Institute of Medical Technology, MRI, CT Scan, Solarization of all three hospitals, and other development initiatives.

This theme includes short-term and long-term projects of Bannu Medical College and the three hospitals managed by MTI, which aim to ensure the provision of modern and effective medical facilities as per world standards.

Chairman Board of Governors MTI Bannu, Professor Dr. Saeed Ullah Shah, while briefing media representatives during his visit to Bannu, said that Khalifa Gulnaz Teaching Hospital, District Headquarters Hospital, and Women and Child Hospital are not only in Bannu but also in the surrounding areas.

He said that before laying the foundation of Theme 2027, an economic, clinical and institutional audit was conducted in the three hospitals and Bannu Medical College so that the services could be improved according to international standards.

In light of this audit, short-term and long-term plans were prepared, which are being worked on and, God willing, their completion by 2027 will bring a revolutionary change in the health sector.

Hospital Director Dr Ahmed Faraz and Medical Director Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal were also present on the occasion and gave a detailed briefing about the ongoing development work in their respective sectors.

Chairman Dr. Saeedullah Shah said that they were paying the most attention to the improvement of the emergency department. For this purpose, revolutionary changes have been made in the emergency services of the three hospitals on modern lines.

Similarly, medical services have been started by establishing a cardiometabolic center at DHQ Hospital.
