Man killed, two injured in IED blast on local politician convey in Lakki Marwat

Bajaur: A bomb explosion occurred on Saturday in the Surbat area on Alizo Road in Khar tehsil of Bajaur district, as confirmed by police officials.

According to police sources, the blast was intended to target tribal elder Malik Subhanullah, son of Fazal Subhan. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident,

Initial investigations suggest it was a planted improvised explosive device (IED), placed in a stream near Malik Subhanullah’s house.

Soon after the explosion, police and law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation.

A police spokesperson confirmed that investigations into the blast have begun and evidence is being collected.

It is worth noting that on July 10, renowned religious scholar, author, and Awami National Party (ANP) leader Maulana Khan Zaib was martyred in Khar by unidentified gunmen. The incident had sparked violent protests in the area.
