GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly is scheduled to hold its budget session tomorrow, June 23, at 4:00 PM in the assembly building in Gilgit.
The session has been convened by Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and will be presided over by Speaker Nazir Ahmad Advocate. During the session, Finance Minister Engineer Muhammad Ismail will present the budget for the fiscal year 2025–26.
According to Engineer Ismail, the total budget outlay is expected to exceed Rs 150 billion. Of this, Rs 22 billion will be allocated for development initiatives and Rs 80 billion for non-development expenditures. He also stated that Rs 15 billion will be set aside for Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) projects. Additionally, the budget includes a proposed 10% salary increase for government employees.
