Chairman PTI opposes Bajaur security operation

BUNER: (PAKHTUN ENGLISH) The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, has expressed serious concern over the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and has opposed the ongoing military operation in Bajaur.

Addressing the Independence Day ceremony at the University of Buner, Gohar Ali Khan said that the state must now decide whether it wants political stability or continued uncertainty.
He said that the process of changing loyalties and breaking political parties every day should stop. If we want to save the country, everyone should take a step back and join hands.
He stressed that independence is not just about hoisting the flag, but its real meaning is respecting differences of opinion and upholding democratic values.
On the other hand, while talking to the media after the flag hoisting ceremony at the Civil Secretariat in Peshawar, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah said that the Bajaur operation that operation is being carried out purely based on intelligence information, the aim of which is only to eliminate terrorist elements.

He said that people from some areas of Bajaur have temporarily moved to other places for their safety, while the provincial government has approved relief funds for the affected people. He hopes that peace will be established in Bajaur soon.
