CHARSADDA: The Deputy Commissioner of Charsadda, Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, met with Afghan refugees elders on Thursday to discuss the government’s plan for the repatriation of refugees.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner confirmed that Afghan refugees with all Proof of Registration (POR) cards and Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC) will officially expire on August 31. This means that all Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan without legal permission must return to Afghanistan after this deadline.
Dr. Wazir stated that all necessary arrangements for the return process have been completed by the local administration. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that the return of illegal Afghan refugees is conducted with “honor and respect.”
In his remarks, the Deputy Commissioner expressed a hope that the departing refugees would take with them “good memories of the hospitality” they received during their stay in Pakistan.
The meeting was part of a broader effort to communicate the government’s decision and ensure a smooth and orderly process for the refugees’ return to Afghanistan.
