Charsadda tree plantation campaign highlights climate action

Charsadda’s Tree Campaign Aims for Long-Term Environmental Impact

CHARSADDA: A grand tree plantation ceremony was organized in Charsadda, attended by government officials, social representatives, students, and local citizens. Deputy Commissioner Azmatullah Wazir and District Police Officer Muhammad Waqas were the chief guests.

During the event, officials highlighted the dangers of climate change and pollution, stressing that planting trees alone is not enough—proper care is essential. They called tree plantation a key step in restoring natural balance and ensuring a healthy environment for future generations.

Shah Khalid Bacha, in-charge of the Forest Department, noted that many previously planted trees had died due to water shortages. He urged schools, government offices, and citizens to work together to make the campaign effective and long-lasting.

At the end, participants planted trees and pledged to monitor and care for them. The event also focused on raising awareness about the importance of tree protection.
