CHARSADDA: Residents of Atmanzai in Charsadda have announced a protest against prolonged electricity load shedding after an emergency meeting of the All Parties Conference (APC) on Friday.
The meeting, held at Nasir Khan Atmanzai’s residence, condemned the severe power cuts, which have reportedly increased to 12-14 hours daily. Participants accused the WAPDA XEN of extending the outages under external influence, calling it an injustice to locals.
The APC unanimously decided to shut down Atmanzai Bazaar Bypass on Monday and hold a peaceful protest until their demands are met. These include the immediate transfer of SDO WAPDA Ajmal Khan and a reduction in load shedding to 12 hours on-and-off.
Protest leaders warned that if their demands are ignored, demonstrations will escalate. Local traders, politicians, and residents pledged full support for the movement.
