PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, addressed a tribal jirga in Kurram district where he highlighted the vital role of local elders in maintaining peace and assured that the government is taking all necessary measures to ensure long-term stability in district.
Speaking to tribal jirgas in Parachinar and Sadda, he acknowledged the hardships endured by locals due to past unrest and reiterated the government’s commitment to resolving their issues and maintaining sustainable peace. He stated that the main objective of his visit was to understand public grievances firsthand and implement effective, coordinated solutions.
During the visit, the Chief Secretary also inspected the District Headquarters Hospital in Parachinar, accompanied by Commissioner Kohat Division Moatasim Billah Shah, MNA Engineer Hamid Hussain, and Deputy Commissioner Kurram. At the hospital, he interacted with patients to gauge the quality of healthcare and staff conduct, assuring prompt action on their concerns.
Dr. Syed Mir Hasan Jan, Medical Superintendent of DHQ Hospital, briefed the delegation on the hospital’s current services, challenges, and future plans. The Chief Secretary instructed the administration to boost service delivery and ensure quality care.
He later chaired a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on district development and governance, attended by senior officials and department heads. The forum was briefed on ongoing development projects and future plans for the region.
