ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China considers Pakistan as its reliable ally and is strengthening bilateral relations with Pakistan to new heights.

The Chinese Foreign Minister, who is visiting Pakistan, while holding a press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar, said that he is grateful to the Pakistani government and people for the wonderful hosting. Various issues were discussed between the two countries, including CPEC Phase II.

He said that China considers Pakistan as its reliable ally, the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China is strengthening, and they are taking relations with Pakistan to new heights.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that regional peace and stability are our common goal, and he is looking forward to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that he had fruitful discussions with the Chinese Foreign Minister. Issues of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting, and all aspects related to Pak-China relations, including CPEC, were reviewed.

He said that he appreciates China’s commitment to protecting the integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan, and is committed to working together for the peace, stability and prosperity of the region.

Ishaq Dar said that CPEC Phase II is committed to expanding people-to-people contacts and bilateral cooperation. There is consensus on all important issues, and we are also committed to supporting each other in various forums, including the Security Council.
