ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for a three-day official visit to Pakistan, aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two allies.
He was received at Nur Khan Airbase by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. Senior officials from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy were also present to welcome the dignitary.
A warm welcome was extended to the visiting minister, as a group of children dressed in traditional Pakistani attire presented him with flowers.
The visit is taking place on the invitation of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The key event of the trip will be the co-chairing of the 6th round of the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue by both officials in Islamabad.
The dialogue is expected to cover a wide range of topics of mutual interest, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), regional security, and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
