Chitral, GB officials plan Shandur Polo festival 2025

CHITRAL:Top officials from Chitral (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) met directly at the iconic Shandur Polo Ground on Wednesday to finalize arrangements for the upcoming Shandur Polo Festival 2025.

Chaired by Colonel Bilal Javed, Commandant Chitral Scouts, the joint meeting included key figures like the GM of KP’s Tourism Department, Deputy Commissioners from Upper Chitral, Lower Chitral, and Ghizer District, police chiefs (DPOs), military representatives (FCNA, GB Scouts, Pakistan Air Force), and presidents of both the Chitral and GB Polo Associations.

The primary focus was ensuring seamless coordination between the two administrations for the successful execution of the festival. Officials committed to working closely together to provide the best possible facilities and experience for the expected influx of tourists and spectators.

As per the long-standing tradition, the festival, scheduled for June 20th to 22nd, 2025, will feature thrilling polo matches where teams from Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral will compete on the world’s highest polo ground.
