Civil society stages protest outside Indian High Commission in Islamabad

A large protest demonstration was held outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on Thursday, where members of civil society and concerned citizens gathered to denounce India’s unilateral actions, particularly its alleged water aggression in the form of the suspension Indus Water treaty.

Organised as a display of public resistance, demonstrators entered through the main gate of the Diplomatic Enclave and marched towards the Indian High Commission amid rising tensions between the two countries.

Chanting strong slogans like “Stop Indian Water Terrorism!” and “Modi Sarkar Murdabad!”, the protesters condemned India’s reported suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and its continued attempts to implicate Pakistan in the recent Pahalgam attack.

The demonstration attracted a sizable crowd, with participants waving placards and urging the international community to take notice of India’s increasingly aggressive posture, especially regarding vital water resources and regional peace.

As the protestors approached the gates of the Indian High Commission, security in the area was tightened. Additional police and paramilitary forces were deployed to maintain order and ensure safety.

The protest concluded peacefully, with participants voicing their concerns and dispersing without incident.
