CJP Yahya Afridi Stresses Prison Health Upgrades During D.I. Khan Visit

Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi visited Dera Ismail Khan Jail on Monday as part of a broader reforms initiative aimed at improving conditions for prisoners and reviewing health facilities.

During his visit, Afridi met with inmates to hear their concerns and inspected various sections of the jail, including the barracks.

A statement released following the visit highlighted that the chief justice’s trip was aligned with the government’s reform agenda, particularly focusing on health services for prisoners.

Afridi also held meetings with District and Sessions Judges in Dera Ismail Khan, as well as judges from the district judiciary of Tank and Waziristan, who joined the discussions.

In his remarks, Afridi emphasized that prioritizing reforms in remote and underserved areas remains a key focus.
