PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP  Chief Minister CM Ali Amin Gandapur has termed the martyrdom of civilians during an anti-terrorist operation in Mardan Katlang as “condemnable and regrettable,” vowing a thorough investigation into the incident.

Speaking on the matter, Gandapur highlighted that the same area had seen successful operations in the past, resulting in the elimination of high-profile terrorists such as Mohsin Baqir and Abbas. Officials confirmed that 12 terrorists were neutralized during Saturday morning’s operation.

However, the tragic loss of civilian lives has prompted the provincial government to launch a comprehensive inquiry. “The sad incident will be investigated from all aspects to uncover the facts,” Gandapur stated, adding that the government would take a clear stance once the inquiry report is finalized.
