CM Gandapur blacklisted on passport control amid diplomatic passport request

PESHAWAR: The Establishment Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa officially submitted a request on August 12, 2025, to the Director General of Immigration for the issuance of a diplomatic passport to the Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

According to details, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s name has been included in the passport control blacklist due to cases related to May 9 and other cases.

The move comes highlighting a complex situation where a diplomatic passport is being sought despite the blacklist status.

Further updates are awaited as the immigration authorities review the application.

Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced that his passport has been blocked since the May 9 riots.

While speaking to journalists in Peshawar, he stated, “For those who claim that my relationships are very good, you should know that my passport has been blocked since May 9. As the Chief Minister, my passport is restricted and not in use.”

He also mentioned that although he had applied for a new passport, it has not yet been issued. However, he added that he is still able to travel to Afghanistan without a passport.
