PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has blamed the federal government for the deteriorating law and order situation in the province.
Speaking to the media outside the Peshawar High Court (PHC), Ali Amin Gandapur said that instead of addressing the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the federal government is focused on making political cases against PTI and its workers.
He stated that his government has prepared Terms of Reference (TORs) for talks with the Afghan government and shared them with the federal government. However, he claimed that the federal government has not responded to these TORs to hold discussions on terrorism. He said that the issue of terrorism cannot be resolved without dialogue with Afghanistan.
He further went on to say that the previous PTI-led government had maintained control over law and order in the province, but after Imran Khan’s ousting and the installation of the PDM government, terrorism began to rise again in the region.
The chief minister also accused the federal government of withholding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s due funds.
“We are working to maintain law and order in Kurram,” he added.
Criticising the Punjab and federal governments, Ali Amin Gandapur claimed that their performance exists only in advertisements.
Responding to a question, he said that renaming Arbab Niaz Stadium after Imran Khan was the will of the people. He highlighted Imran Khan’s outstanding contributions to the country’s cricket and stated that the stadium was renamed after completion of renovation work.
