PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has formed a committee to monitor the availability and prices of food items during Ramadan. The Chief Secretary will spearhead the committee.
Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur said the chief secretary should ensure a crackdown against hoarding and artificial shortages across the province.
He also directed the MNAs and MPAs to keep a close eye on prices in their respective constituencies.
He said that the KP government has provided Rs 10,000 to needy families for Ramadan through provincial members in advance.
The movement of essential items should also be monitored during Ramadan. Availability of essential items should be made possible at all costs. He said that every Deputy Commissioner should establish a complaint cell to redress the complaints of citizens.

He warned that no negligence will be tolerated during Ramadan.
