A romantic moment caught on camera at a Coldplay concert has led to the resignation of a tech CEO after internet users identified the couple involved.
During the band’s recent show, the “Jumbotron Song” camera focused on a man and woman cuddling in the crowd. When they realized they were on the big screen, they quickly separated and tried to hide their faces.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked, “Whoa, look at these two. Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” The clip went viral, and online investigators soon identified the pair as Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s HR chief, Kristin Cabot.
Byron resigned shortly after, and Astronomer’s board announced an investigation. The company stated, “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.” Meanwhile, the internet has turned the awkward moment into countless memes and jokes.
