Commissioner Hazara given additional charge of BISE Abbottabad chairman

Commissioner Hazara
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government has assigned Commissioner Hazara Division, Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah, the additional charge of Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Abbottabad. The appointment is for a period of three months, effective immediately.

According to an official notification issued by the provincial administration, the decision was taken to ensure continuity in administrative affairs and oversight of the board’s activities, especially during a crucial post-examination period. The move comes as the previous chairman’s tenure ended, and a permanent appointment is still pending.

Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah is a seasoned bureaucrat currently serving as the Commissioner of Hazara Division. With a reputation for efficient governance and strong administrative skills, officials say his temporary appointment is expected to bring stability to the board’s operations.

Sources within the education department noted that the government is in the process of finalizing candidates for a full-time BISE chairman, but the selection procedure may take time. In the meantime, Shah’s dual role is seen as a stopgap measure to maintain smooth functioning, particularly with upcoming supplementary exams and routine board matters.

Stakeholders, including school administrators and educationists in the region, have welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence that Shah will bring transparency and efficiency during his short tenure.

BISE Abbottabad oversees intermediate and secondary examinations for several districts within Hazara Division, including Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Battagram, and Kohistan. The board plays a critical role in shaping academic standards and ensuring fair assessment processes.
