Congress MP claims Pakistan shot down 3 Rafales, 1 Sukhoi, 1 MiG-29 inside Indian territory

New Delhi: A senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament, (MP) K. Francis George has revealed that Pakistan shot down five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales, one Sukhoi-30 MKI, and one MiG-29, all within Indian territory, during Pakistan-India conflict.

Speaking during a public interaction, the MP alleged, “We lost 3 Rafales, 1 Sukhoi-30 MKI, and 1 MiG-29, all shot down in our own territory by Pakistan.”

The claim includes the loss of three Rafale fighter jets, part of India’s latest defence acquisitions from France, along with one Russian-made Sukhoi-30 MKI and one MiG-29. These jets are among the most advanced aircraft in the Indian Air Force fleet.

K. Francis George’s statement has raised questions and drawn attention due to the sensitive nature of such military losses and the implication that these were caused by Pakistani forces operating across or near the Line of Control or international border.
