The weekly inflation rate in the country has risen to 3.57% compared to the same time last year.
According to a report from the Bureau of Statistics, inflation increased by 0.62% in just one week. During this period, the prices of 18 essential items went up, while 6 items became cheaper. The cost of 27 other items remained unchanged.
Significant price hikes were seen in tomatoes (up 14.98%), flour (up 12.11%), chicken (up 3.36%), and potatoes (up 1.52%). The cost of eggs and LPG gas also increased.
However, some items saw a decrease in price, including dal mash, cooking ghee, bananas, and onions.
