CPPA seeks monthly adjustment, electricity prices may drop again

Electricity Prices Set to Drop for Ninth Month in a Row

The price of electricity is expected to decrease for the ninth consecutive time as the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has requested a reduction of 3 paisa per unit. The CPPA submitted its adjustment request for March 2025 to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), which will hold a hearing on April 29.

However, this monthly adjustment will not affect regular electricity consumers. NEPRA has already cut electricity prices eight times in a row in previous monthly adjustments.
