KP Chief Secretary Urges DCs to boost performance, public engagement

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has mandated strict deadlines for development project updates and unveile digital reforms to boost transparency. Chief Secretary C Shahab Ali Shah, chairing a weekly review meeting, directed all departments to submit project details on the tracking system by Wednesday, warning of action against delays. Officials also reviewed spending to expedite fund utilization for public welfare.

Key updates included progress on the Ring Road’s “Missing Link” project, now on e-PADs with financial bids finalized. Reforms for the Peshawar Development Authority and a ‘pitch book’ to attract investors for public-private partnerships were discussed. Starting May 30, an e-office system will digitize workflows in seven departments, while 706 tenders have already been uploaded to the e-procurement portal (e-PADS) for transparency.

The Tourism Department was instructed to involve locals and stakeholders in master plans for destinations, ensuring eco-friendly drainage systems. A governance roadmap prioritizing quick public service delivery was also reviewed, requiring departments to set actionable goals and timelines.
