BANNU: In the wake of deteriorated law and order situation in Bannu, security forces imposed curfew and have started preparation for a military operation in the area.
The move comes after recent security measures in Bajaur district, where a similar curfew is already in effect. A statement issued by the district administration has warned that miscreants may try to use citizens as human shields, so the public needs to exercise special caution. Officials say that a close watch is being kept on unusual movements. Officials have made it clear that strict legal action will be taken against anyone who shelters terrorists.
“The house from which the firing was carried out will be demolished immediately.” the statement siad. The district police, CTD and other law enforcement agencies are on full alert, while citizens have been asked to cooperate and show responsibility.
It should be noted that Bannu and the surrounding areas have witnessed an increase in terrorist incidents in recent weeks, following which these extraordinary measures are being taken.
