SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A complete curfew has been imposed on Pak-Afghan Highway in Barmal Tehsil of Lower South Waziristan on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
According to a notification issued by the district administration, there is a complete ban on all types of movement during the curfew, while all markets and bazaars, especially Raghzai Bazaar, will remain closed.
According to the notification, entry is strictly prohibited in Angor Adda, Zamchinia, Khumrang, Raghzai, Sholam and Wana routs. The administration has clarified that only in case of emergency, conditional permission to travel can be given with the permission of the security forces or police, after submitting the identity card and necessary documents.
The public has been instructed to park their vehicles at least 100 meters away if they see a security forces vehicle. Strict security measures have been adopted in the mentioned here and search operation are underway to trace the suspected persons. Similar situation exists in Bajaur district where curfew will prevail in sixteen different villages till July 31 evening 7:00 pm. Law enforcement agency citing militants suspected movement in these areas where curfew have been imposed.
In Tirah valley the resident utterly rejected any military operation and imposition of curfew and warned that if any operation was launched in the area, the people would take the streets against federal and provincial government. A days earlier an untoward incident happed in Tirah valley where security forces exchanged fire with local people, when the people started pelting stones toward the security force check posts. The clash had claimed martyrdom of seven persons and injured 14 others.
