SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department has announced a complete curfew in Birmal Tehsil of Lower South Waziristan on August 10 due to security concerns.
According to the official notification issued on the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioner, the curfew will remain in effect from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm under Section 144. All movement, public gatherings, and business activities will be prohibited during this period, with violators facing legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Markets, including those in Ragzai and adjoining areas, will remain closed. Restricted routes include Khumrang to Ragzai, Sholam to Wana, Tiarza Gate to Karb Kot, Tanai, and Azizabad Chowk to Dargai Bridge.
Residents have been advised to avoid travel on these routes. In case of emergency, travel will only be allowed with prior permission from police or security agencies, along with valid identification and required documents.
The notification further instructs that if any citizen encounters a security forces’ vehicle, they must immediately move their own vehicle at least 100 meters off the road to avoid obstruction or misunderstanding during security operations.
The district administration has urged the public to fully cooperate with security forces and comply with the curfew to maintain law and order in the area.
