NORTH WAZIRISTAN: The district administration has imposed a one-day curfew in the North Waziristan in the wake of a fragile security situation, which will be effective from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm today.
During the curfew, all internal and external routes will remain closed, and a complete ban has been imposed on the movement of people. In a notification issued by the district administration, citizens have been strictly instructed to stay at home and not go out unnecessarily.
According to officials, this step has been taken keeping in mind the current security situation so that any untoward incident can be avoided and law and order can be ensured in the area. The administration has further said that the situation is being closely monitored, and law enforcement agencies will remain on full alert during the curfew.
It may be recalled that a few weeks ago, a similar curfew was imposed in North Waziristan, the aim of which was also to ensure security.
