Curfew imposed in South Waziristan amid security concerns

Curfew extended to two more KP districts amid spike in terror attacks

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: The district administration has imposed a one-day curfew across several areas of South Waziristan, including Upper, Lower, and Jandola, as part of heightened security measures.

According to an official notification, all routes from Jandola to Upper Waziristan have been completely sealed. In Lower South Waziristan, curfew has also been enforced in Shakai, Angoor Adda, Tayarza Gate, Tanai, and the stretch from Azizabad Chowk to Dargai Bridge.

During the curfew, all forms of movement will remain strictly prohibited. The administration has warned that violators will face stern legal action. Only emergency movements will be allowed, and that too with prior approval from security forces or the police. Citizens have also been instructed to carry their national identity cards and other essential documents if movement becomes necessary.

Furthermore, all markets in the curfew-affected areas will remain closed, and vehicles must be immediately cleared from the roads.

The district administration and security forces have appealed to the public for full cooperation to help maintain law and order in the region.
