SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Authorities have announced a full-day curfew in parts of Lower South Waziristan and Tank distric tomorrow, July 31, citing serious security concerns.
According to official notifications issued by the district administration, the curfew will be enforced from 6 AM to 7 PM in Shakai and Birmal tehsils of South Waziristan (Lower), as well as in the Jandola subdivision of Tank district.
During this period, all forms of public movement will be strictly prohibited, and residents have been directed to remain indoors. All markets and commercial establishments in the affected areas will remain closed throughout the day.
The administration stated that all entry and exit points to key areas, including Raghzai Bazaar, will be sealed. Travel will not be allowed between Shakai, Angoor Adda, Wana, Tayarza Gate, Karbogha, Tanai, Azizabad Chowk, and Dargai Bridge.
Similarly, all routes from Jandola Bazaar to Upper South Waziristan will be closed for the day.
Officials emphasized that travel during curfew hours will only be allowed in emergency situations, subject to prior approval from the police or security forces. Travelers must carry their national identity cards and relevant documents for verification.
The public has also been advised to pull their vehicles at least 100 meters off the road upon sighting security forces’ convoys to avoid any untoward incidents.
Authorities have appealed for public cooperation to maintain peace and security in the region.
