Curfew to be imposed in Upper South Waziristan by Sunday, notification issued

Security Alert: Daylong Curfew in South & North Waziristan

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: In light of the fragile law and order situation in various parts of Upper South Waziristan, Deputy Commissioner Ismatullah has announced the imposition of a curfew on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 6 AM to 7 PM.

According to the official notification, the curfew will be enforced in areas including Azizabad Chowk, Madijan, Mola Khan Sarai, Barwand, Sarwakai to Barwand, and their adjoining localities.

All commercial activities, markets, shops, and transport services in these areas will remain completely suspended.

The notification makes it clear that all vehicular, motorcycle, and pedestrian movement will be strictly prohibited during the curfew. Only emergency services such as ambulances, fire brigades, and security forces will be exempted.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that this measure is necessary to maintain law and order and to prevent any potential untoward incident.

Law enforcement agencies will verify the identity of all individuals during the curfew, and any violation will lead to action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The district administration has urged the public to cooperate by staying indoors and following instructions from law enforcement personnel to help restore peace in the area.
