Sugar Stockpiling Peshawar

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to provide relief to consumers, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has directed sugar mill owners to lower sugar prices. The decision came during a high-level meeting with representatives of the Sugar Mills Association.

Dar instructed mills to reduce the ex-factory price of sugar from Rs. 164 per kg to a range between Rs. 154 and Rs. 159 per kg. The Sugar Mills Association has assured full cooperation in implementing the price cut.

This move is expected to ease financial pressure on households amid rising inflation. Authorities will monitor compliance to ensure the reduced rates reach the public.
