DC North Waziristan finds widespread Absenteeism in govt offices

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan Muhammad Karim suddenly visited different government offices and found most of them remained inactive while government employees were absent from their duties.

On the directives of Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan Muhammad Yousuf Karim, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Samiullah Khan conducted a surprise inspection of various government offices.To review the attendance of government officials, the accuracy of records and administrative discipline. The following serious irregularities were found during the inspection. In the C&W Communication Office, 66 out of 74 employees were absent, only 8 employees were on duty, while XEN and SDO were found absent from the office without permission.

In the District Education Office (Mardana), DEO and SDOs were absent, and a clear lack of administrative discipline was felt. The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control office was open, but all the staff were absent.The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) office was found closed during office hours, which indicates negligence of the staff. The transport office employees were present but records were not being maintained regularly.The Additional Deputy Commissioner General, while talking to the media, expressed serious concerns over this poor performance. An immediate explanation has been sought from the concerned officers, while recommendations for disciplinary action are also being formulated.
