BUNER: Instead of providing immediate relief to the flood-affected people, the deputy commissioner Buner is hindering the relief activities and stopping relief goods sent by the welfare organization from Mardan and the surrounding districts on the pretext of NOC.
Talking to media persons, leaders of the welfare organization severely criticized Deputy Commissioner Buner and blamed him for putting hurdles in the relief activities. He said that they are stopping the loaded trucks of relief goods from Mardan, Checkdara, Sawabi and demanding to obtain a no-objection certificate NOC before entering Buner.
One of the leaders of a welfare organization from Chekdara told reporters that they will take back their relief items to Chekdara if the DC does not allow them to distribute relief items at their hands. He said that the Deputy Commissioner is a civil servant, and he should make the process easy instead of stopping the vehicle loaded with relief items.
The affected families told media persons that the Deputy Commissioner has directed police to stop those vehicles which are loaded with relief goods and ask for a certificate and registration. He said that stopping relief trucks is an extreme injustice to flood-affected families, as all the welfare organizations are sending the relief goods after collecting donations.
The flood-affected families have appealed to MNA Barrister Gohar and MPA Riaz Khan to stop these official tactics of DC and ensure the smooth flow of relief goods to the districts to reach deserving victims. The Locals severely criticized the performance of the Deputy Commissioner and demanded his immediate transfer from the area.
