Derajat 2025 festival kicks Off in DI Khan today

Dera Ismail Khan is gearing up to host its first-ever Derajat Recreational and Traditional Sports Festival starting April 5. The event, which will run until April 20, aims to celebrate local culture and sports with a variety of activities.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will officially inaugurate the festival, which is expected to draw thousands of visitors from across Pakistan. The festival will feature a mix of traditional and modern sports, including Neza Bazi (Tent Pegging), Kabaddi, Dangal (Wrestling), bull and camel racing, and pigeon racing.

In addition to sports, the event will include the historic Mela Aspaan, an off-road jeep show, pet shows, a ladies’ meena bazaar, a grand mushaira, Qirat and Naat competitions, an art exhibition, and guided tours of historical sites. A tree plantation campaign will also be part of the festivities.

The Department of Sports has confirmed that mainstream sports like cricket, football, hockey, martial arts, and chess will also be part of the festival, making it a diverse and exciting event for all attendees.
