Doctors', teachers' promotions made subject to performance

 

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to make the promotion of teachers and doctors subjected to their performance.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the Provincial Selection Board chaired by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah. The meeting directed the officials of the Health Department, Education Department and Establishment Department that only those individuals who meet the prescribed performance criteria will be eligible for promotion.
The Chief Secretary directed that IMU reports be included as a key criterion to evaluate the performance of teachers and doctors, while other mandatory performance indicators should also be fully reviewed and verified.
He added that these measures aim to keep the promotion matters free from any irregularities and promote a merit-based system so that quality services can be provided to the public in the health and education sectors.
The Chief Secretary directed the concerned departments to ensure strict implementation of the new policy and said that a culture of performance-based promotion would be promoted for improvement in the health and education sectors.
