In the case of the murder of 13-year-old domestic worker Iqra in Abbottabad, the accused Haris Latif was produced in a local court, and the duty magistrate handed over the accused to the police on a 6-day physical remand.
Yesterday, the Mirpur police station of Abbottabad arrested accused Haris Latif on the charge of murdering 14-year-old domestic worker Iqra.
According to the police report, the victim, Iqra, had been working as a domestic worker at the house of the accused, Haris Latif, at Street No. 9, Habibullah Colony, for the past year.
The investigation revealed that the accused tortured and raped Iqra and later killed her. The body of the victim was recovered from Habibullah Colony in a tortured state.
On the complaint of the victim’s father, a case has been registered against the accused on charges of murder and rape. Legal action is also underway under Section 53 of the Child Protection Act.

Abbottabad Police, acting on directives from District Police Chief Omar Tufail (PSP), arrested a man accused of raping and murdering a 13-year-old girl.
According to a complaint filed by the victim’s father from Samundar Khatta Nagari Bala, his daughter worked as a maid at the home of Haris Latif (son of Shahid Latif) in Habibullah Colony’s Street No. 9. The father alleged that Latif tortured, raped, and killed the girl overnight.
Mirpur Police Station swiftly arrested the accused following the report. A case has been registered against Latif under Section 302 (murder), 376 (rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code, and Section 53 of the Child Protection Act. Further investigation is underway.
