BATTAGRAM: A slaughtered donkey was recovered and two suspects were arrested during a raid in the Kuzabanda area of Battagram district on Tuesday.
According to District Food Controller (DFC) Shad Muhammad, Additional Assistant Commissioner and Food Inspector raided a location in Kuzabanda based on intelligence information. Two individuals were arrested on the spot and handed over to the police, while the seized meat was immediately destroyed.
According to the district administration, a formal case has been registered against the suspects, and investigations are underway to uncover any broader network involved in such illegal activities.
The district administration affirmed that operations to ensure the provision of safe and quality food across the district will continue.
Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious or illegal activities, especially related to the sale or preparation of unsafe or fake food items, to the administration or police for immediate action.
Police identify suspects as Anwar Shah (resident of Hunza) and Daniyal (resident of Mansehra), who now face legal proceedings.
