DPM discusses India’s provocative actions with Swiss, Greek Foreign Ministers

Ishaq Dar heads to Kabul for high-level talks today

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate phone calls with his Swiss and Greek counterparts on Saturday to discuss the evolving regional security situation and India’s provocative actions.

Dar raised Pakistan’s serious concerns over India’s recent moves, including the unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a clear breach of international commitments. He reiterated Pakistan’s demand for an independent and transparent international investigation.

Emphasising Pakistan’s dedication to regional peace and stability, Dar also affirmed the country’s right to safeguard its sovereignty and national interests.

Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis stressed the need for restraint to avoid escalation and welcomed Pakistan’s proposal for a neutral inquiry. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination, particularly as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.

Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis also endorsed Pakistan’s call for a probe and expressed Switzerland’s willingness to offer its good offices to help facilitate an impartial investigation. Both leaders agreed to stay in contact as the situation unfolds.
