LONDON: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in London on Saturday for an official visit to the United Kingdom.
During the trip, he is scheduled to meet his British counterpart Angela Rayner, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Pakistan Hamish Falconer, Lord Wajid Khan, and Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.
The visit seeks to further strengthen Pakistan-UK relations, enhance cooperation in digital technology, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship, and expand collaboration with the Commonwealth.
British parliamentarians, Kashmiri leaders, and representatives of the Pakistani diaspora are also expected to hold meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister. At the Pakistan High Commission in London, he will inaugurate a pilot project of the Punjab Land Record Authority, designed to help overseas Pakistanis resolve land documentation issues remotely.
Earlier, Ishaq Dar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to mobilising all available resources for relief and rescue operations in flood-affected areas. In a post on his X account, he expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by recent cloudbursts and flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the northern regions, noting that federal and provincial agencies, armed forces, and local administrations are working around the clock to support the victims.
