ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect.

“Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region, without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity!” he stated in a post on X.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump on Saturday announced that India and Pakistan have agreed to implement a full and immediate ceasefire.

Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump shared the development, saying, “After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire.”

He congratulated both nations for choosing diplomacy over conflict, adding, “Congratulations to both countries on using common sense and great intelligence.”
