ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Saturday.
The discussion focused mainly on recent developments in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). During the call, Dar dismissed Indian accusations of Pakistan’s involvement in the situation in the occupied region, warning against what he termed as India’s “false propaganda” aimed at weakening Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir dispute.
According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, Dar expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its consistent support of Pakistan’s position on Kashmir.
The two leaders also reviewed ongoing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade and investment.
This diplomatic engagement comes against a backdrop of heightened tensions between Pakistan and India over Kashmir, notably following the recent Pahalgam attack.
