DPO vows to strengthen public-Police collaboration in Bajaur

BAJAUR:District Police Officer (DPO) Bajaur led an open court in Tehsil Atmankhel on Thursday, where local residents raised complaints and issues directly with police officials. The DPO listened to concerns and issued immediate orders to officers on-site to address grievances swiftly.

During the session, the DPO emphasized that the initiative aims to bridge the gap between the public and police, review law enforcement performance, and resolve legal and security issues transparently. “The police are servants of the people, and their service is our top priority,” he stated.

To streamline complaint resolution, the police launched an official WhatsApp number for citizens to report issues directly. Additionally, the offices of all Circle DSPs in Civil Colony Khar have been closed, with officials directed to work in their respective areas to ensure “justice at the public’s doorstep.”

The DPO also highlighted efforts to combat drug trafficking, noting that 16 dealers have been convicted in the last three months. He urged collective action, stressing that eradicating drugs is a shared responsibility between police and society.
